The North Central Missouri YMCA was established in 1996 by the Grand River Area Family YMCAs. The Y's current building opened its doors in 2003. A 28,000 sq.ft. facility complete with: an indoor walking track, fitness center, full court basketball gym, recreation room, men’s/women’s locker rooms, family locker room, conference room with a full kitchen, aerobics room, and childcare.
Gymnasium
Our gymnasium provides plenty of room for basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, and more. Basketballs are provided inside the gym.
Fitness Center
Weight machines, free weights, and cardio equipment are housed upstairs in our Fitness Center. Our certified instructors and adult fitness classes will help you learn the proper way to use the wide variety of equipment. From stationery bikes to elliptical machines, stair climbers, a large selection of weight machines, and Life Fitness treadmills with heart rate monitoring systems, you can select the exercise program appropriate for your needs. Must be 14 years old to be upstairs. Youth weight orientation are available by appointment for ages 12 and 13.
Aerobic Room
Our fitness classes are taught in a designated Aerobic Room located to the right of the Welcome Center.
Track
Around the Fitness Center and looking over the Gymnasium, our track provides an excellent place for walking or running anytime during business hours. One mile is 13.5 laps on the inside and 11.5 laps on the outside of the track. Children may walk on the track with a parent between 7 and 8 pm Monday through Thursday.
Hot Tub
Soak away your aches and pains and soothe your sore muscles in our hot tub. The hot tub seats six comfortably and is heated to a toasty 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The hot tub is available to individuals 18 years and older whenever the facility is open. Key to the hot tub can be checked out at the Welcome Center.
Sauna
Our sauna measures 8 feet by 12 feet with an inside temperature between 160 and 180 degrees while in use. There are two benches, an upper and a lower bench, and a bucket of water with a ladle for ladling water over hot rocks to increase the feeling of heat. Swimsuits are required inside the sauna, and the minimum age is 18 years. The sauna hours are the same as the facility. Key to the sauna can be checked out at the Welcome Center.
Locker Rooms
We offer men’s and women’s locker rooms directly off our main hallway. Lockers are available free of charge while you are utilizing the facility, or members may rent a locker for a small fee. We also offer a family changing room/restroom for parent with opposite sex children over the age of five who may still need assistance. The family changing room/restroom is also available to disabled or physically challenged participants in need of special accommodations. The family changing room/restroom has lockers, an infant changing station, and a restroom.
Conference Room
Our conference room is the perfect place for birthday parties and board meetings. It’s also a great location for your next business meeting or family get together. The conference room is equipped with a full kitchen. For rental information please contact the Welcome Center at (660) 258-2388.
Game Room
Between foosball, ping pong, pool, and Connect 4, our Game Room has it all! Members can also enjoy playing one of 5 games on our Xbox Connect. The game room is open during regular facility hours. Please see the Welcome Center for game equipment.
Child Watch Area
Child Watch services are available for children 6 weeks to 6 years (not yet in 1st grade). Our Child Watch Area is staffed Monday-Thursday 8:30am - 11:30am and 4:30pm - 7:00pm. This is available for members and non-members for $1.00 per hour / $0.50 for each additional child. Child Watch Cards are available for $10 please see the Welcome Center for details.
